Welcome to Don Carlos Ledesma National High School (DCLNHS)

Strategically situated in Barangay Buluangan, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, DCLNHS offers a unique blend of accessibility and natural surroundings. The school's 2.7-hectare campus is nestled between the highway and a coastal area, with sugarcane fields reflecting the community's primary livelihoods: fishing and sugarcane farming. 

Academic Programs and Services

DCLNHS provides a comprehensive education to students from Grade 7 to 12, offering: - Junior High School (JHS) for Grades 7-10 - Science, Technology, Engineering (STE) program - Senior High School (SHS) with various Academic Tracks: - Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) - Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) - Technical-Vocational Track in Computer Software Servicing (TVL-CSS)

True to DepEd mandate, DCLNHS is committed to provide students with quality basic education that is accessible, inclusive, and liberating in terms of student welfare with specific services – guidance and counselling, clinic/health services, student organization, student publication, special events, and external affairs where students participate in and involve in various youth convergence.

Our History and Mission 

The old name of the school was Barangay Buluangan High School, established in 1974, formerly situated in Katingal-an Elementary School, then later in 1980 was transferred to Sitio Lawis of the same barangay. DCLNHS has long been a pillar of academic excellence and holistic development in the community. Our mission is to provide quality education, foster intellectual growth, emotional intelligence, moral integrity, and social responsibility, and shape the minds and hearts of future leaders. 

Our Team 

DCLNHS boasts a team of highly dedicated and competent teaching and non-teaching personnel with baccalaureate, graduate and post-graduate degrees as well as specialized and technical skills, comprising: 1 Secondary School Principal III (both JHS and SHS), 1 Asst. School Principal II in the Senior High School, 53 Junior High School teachers, 19 Senior High School teachers, and 9 administrative staff with 7 in the Junior High School and 2 in Senior High School.

Our school is equipped with facilities that support both academic and extracurricular activities, including: - Spacious classrooms - Science laboratories - Computer rooms - Covered court We also offer a wide range of extracurricular programs, such as sports, arts, and cultural activities, which help students build confidence, leadership skills, and teamwork. 

Student Organizations and Community Engagement 

DCLNHS is proud of its vibrant student organizations, including: - Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) - Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) - Girl Scout of the Philippines (GSP), School Publication, and other youth organizations. These organizations empower young leaders to take active roles in improving the school community. We also conduct outreach programs, events, and campaigns that promote public engagement and service.

DCLNHS has garnered numerous awards in academics, sports, and arts. Our students regularly excel in school, division, regional, and national levels. We have a long-standing relationship with our community, fostering strong partnerships with parents, local government units, private sectors, and alumni.
